Black Pants

Hellooooo - Today I m going to be blogging about finding the right/correct pair of black pants :) I knowwww another posting on a black item - my friends are already like this blog is so Yemisi she started talking about her fave pieces which are black pants and black dresses - I guess my next post will be on something more "colorful" - So lets get started
Having a pair of black pants in your closet makes dressing sooooo much easier - Black goes with anything – you can dress it up or down and best of all they are slimming when they fit correctly.
One key item about anything you buy is to remember that they did not make any clothing you buy from a store for your body specifically - so spending a bit money on some alterations goes a long way

Now let me explain what pair of pants YOU should wear for your shape

If you are an hourglass;
First of all please show off your curves - you want to purchase a pair of pants with smooth clean lines and purchase pants without a waistband. Go for a bootcut or flare leg pant and if you are smaller in size a slim pant

If you are an inverted triangle (smaller in the waist and hips than in the shoulders and bust)

Ideal pants for you would be small flap pockets on the back of your pants - and you can also get a away with wearing skinny pants

If you are Oval;

Look for pants without pockets - a hidden elastic waistband is perfect for your shapes. Side zip and straight leg will look best on also.

Now for all my tall ladies or any lady who hates buying pants online - one very important measurement which will make buying pants online easier for you is to know your inseam. Since people have legs of different sizes it is important to know your inseam measurements. Someone who is 5'5" and someone who is 6'0" may both wear a woman’s size 8 but they will have totally different inseam lengths.
Now what is the inseam; the inseam is the element that binds the interior leg of the pants. So the inseam length determines the length of the inner pant leg to appropriately fit the wearer. To find your correct inseam measurement you could get a friend to measure you but I think its best to go to your seamstress.
So next time you’re shopping online - look for the inseam measurement on the sizing chart to see if the pair of pants will be long enough -

Enjoy a few pics of some cute and interesting black pants. If you would like me to blog on something in particular or just want to say hi or have a question please email me at yemisi@theisimeyimage.com

The Little Black Dress

The little black dress was designed by Coco Chanel in the early 1920s and is still an essential item in every woman's closet. Why has the "little black dress" remained an essential look? Because of the simplicity and elegance. During the course of my blog I am going to expand on "Must Haves" the little black dress being one.

For now enjoy a couple of pictures of my favorite black dresses below. Till then remain in a fashion state of mind.
