Keeping Warm in The Office

All offices are freezing cold in the summer – and are probably freezing cold all year round for my fashionistas in Africa and the Middle East.

From skirts to thin summer blouses and other summer attire which  do not protect us from the power of the AC – Dressing to the office can become a bit of a drag.

Find some tips on how to keep yourself warm in the office and still look chic ;

Short(er) Cardigans
Cardigans come in all sorts of colors, fabrics and patterns. You can pair a shorter cardigan with your normal work blouse or even over a plain white tee (which I actually did last Wednesday)

The nice thing about short cardigans is that you can take it off after work and stick it inside your bag and VOILA you have your nice work dress underneath ready for happy hour; or, you can opt for the preppy look and sling the cardigan over your shoulders.
Good places to find cardigans are JCrew, Gap, Banana Republic, H&M and Ann Taylor Loft

Summer Jackets and Blazers
This is a work staple – summer jackets, even if it’s a 3/4blazer are cute, stylish and a great way to be creative with your work attire.
The jacket doesn’t even have to match your outfit underneath it could just be the  pop off color you need for that black pencil skirt you have on.

Scarves and Shawls
Your scarf can keep you warm around the neck, shoulders and even your legs. Great scarves can be found everywhere even your local Wal-Mart for my US/ Canada Fashionistas. Have a stash in a variety of colors, textures and patterns – they will never disappoint.

To spice up your scarves, jackets, cardigans (and really anything else) wear a brooch; this instantly adds a ladylike aura to your outfit.
